Battle Athletess Daiundoukai Akari Kanzaki

Inflated - Art Book Scan

Actual Item - Uninflated

I have no actual evidence to support this statement, and this is totally my personal opinion, but my belief is that this is one of the rarest Battle Athletes merchandise items available.

I first learned of its existence from a member on the discussion list, who had knew of it and was looking for one. I had never seen this before in all the years I collected items from the series. Within four or five months, though, one suddenly popped up on eBay, roughly around 2008 or 2009. I was short on cash, but knew I would regret passing it up, so I aggressively bid on it until it was mine. It turns out that was a good idea, as none have shown up since. It is the only one I've seen available for sale since I began collecting this series in 1998 or 1999.

It's existence should not have been a surprise to me, though. I recently discovered one of the art books I've owned for several years actually lists it in its merchandise section, with the top picture shown.

This item is related to the games, and I've always suspected it might be a promotional item of some sort. However, unlike other promotioanl items, it does not have "Not For Sale" printed on it anywhere that I can see.

I've never actually displayed this item anywhere, so it sits in a box folded up for the moment. I think I would feel weird having something this ecchi blown up in the corner of my office or room. The games certainly didn't shy away from fan service.
